A letter from our founder
Why we built Odesongs
When my dad turned sixty, I spent weeks looking for a gift that meant something. A watch felt expected. A book felt borrowed. Nothing said “I see you” the way I wanted. So I tried writing him a song.
I'm not a musician. The first attempt was awful. But the act of writing it, sitting with the moments that made my dad my dad, the Saturday mornings, the bad jokes, the way he still calls to ask about my drive home, it changed something. I'd been trying to buy him a gift. I should have been trying to tell him a story.
Odesongs exists so anyone can give that gift, even if they've never written a word in their life. You share three memories, we turn them into a song made only for the one you're celebrating. Real lyrics. Real voices. A story they'll keep on their phone for the rest of their life, and play when they need to hear it.
Here is my promise. If you don't love what we make, we'll rewrite it. If you still don't love it, we'll refund you. No clipboard, no questions, no hassle. We are a small team, the email comes to a real person, and we read every reply.
Thank you for trusting us with your moment. We don't take it lightly.
